Gary Golomb has revealed more details about the Win 4, GPD's next gaming handheld. Better known as The Phawx on YouTube, Golomb leaked GPD Win 4 press renders last month, as we reported at the time. Subsequently, he has shared more renders, as well as numerous device specifications. Undoubtedly, the GPD Win 4 resembles a PSP, but one with a slide-up display and a recessed keyboard.
According to Golomb, the GPD Win 4 will arrive with a 6-inch display running at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Presumably a 60 Hz panel, GPD's press renders suggest that it will have relatively thin display bezels, even when compared to the upcoming AYA NEO SLIDE. Predictably, the GPD Win 4 will rely on the Ryzen 7 6800U, AMD's flagship Rembrandt U-series APU. For reference, the Ryzen 7 6800U has 8 Zen 3+ CPU cores, 16 threads, a 28 W TDP and a Radeon 680M iGPU based on AMD's RDNA 2 architecture.
Additionally, GPD will offer the Win 4 with 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and a 1 TB or a 2 TB NVMe SSD. Golomb adds that the device also utilises an Intel AX210 modem for Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6 support; there will be optional 4G LTE too. Moreover, the GPD Win 4 has a 45.62 Wh battery and the following ports:
- USB 4.0 (eGPU support)
- USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
- MicroSD card reader (A2)
Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when GPD plans to launch the Win 4. Currently, the company is focused on promoting the Win MAX 2, which is still available to order on Indiegogo via its InDemand program. Regardless, we imagine that GPD will use Indiegogo to fund Win 4 production, as it has done with other devices.
