The Lifebook business-class series from Fujitsu is getting upgraded specs and new lightweight chassis. This series' top of the line model is represented by the Lifebook U939X convertible that comes with a 13.3-inch display, stylus pen and a slim case that makes it one of the lightest devices in its class available on the market today.
With a 0.67-inch profile and weighing around 2.2 lbs (the Japanese-only version weighs only 1.9 lbs due to a smaller battery), the Lifebook U939X comes with a red/black magnesium chassis that still has military-grade durability. The 13.3-inch display features an anti-glare touchscreen panel with 1080p resolution and can be rotated 360 degrees. Depending on the budget, users can choose among Intel’s Core i5-8265U, i5-8365U and i7-8665U CPUs coupled with up to 16 GB of LPDDR3-2133 RAM and storage combos comprising up to 1TB SATA3 SSDs and 512 GB NVMe SSDs.
Other features include:
• dual-band WiFi with Bluetooth 5.0 support + GbE + LTE Cat. 6 modem
• dual array mics and stereo speakers
• 1080p webcam + 5 MP camera with autofocus on the outer cover (optional)
• connectors: audio-in, audio-out, 2x USB-A 30 + USB-C 3.1, Thunderbolt 3, HDMI out
Fujitsu only mentioned that the slimmer Japanese version is expected to retail for ~US$3,000, but there is no word on the global version price.
