Fujifilm X-T6: Leaked image confirms disappointing detail

The Fujifilm X-T5 ($2,199 on Amazon) is already four years old, and its successor is finally nearing launch. After two technical drawings of the camera leaked in early October, FujiRumors has now published another image, offering a first look at the bottom.
The image confirms that Fujifilm is once again not offering a connector for a vertical battery grip, which would make shooting in portrait orientation more comfortable and enables longer battery life – this professional accessory thus remains exclusive to the X-H series. The illustration once again shows that Fujifilm is redesigning the control dials to make them easier to operate, while the D-pad is now a four-way button rather than four separate buttons as before. The display can be folded out. The electronic viewfinder's eyepiece appears to be slightly more compact.
Aside from the minor design changes, the Fujifilm X-T6 is reportedly set to receive two major upgrades in particular. First, a more advanced, AI-powered autofocus system, which is expected not only to focus faster but also to enable more reliable tracking. And second, a new NP-W255 battery, which is said to offer around 16 percent more capacity while reportedly also being compatible with older Fujifilm X cameras. Fujifilm is expected to continue using a 40-megapixel APS-C X-Trans sensor, although it is not yet known whether this will be the sensor from the Fujifilm X-T5 or a newer sensor. The Fujifilm X-T6 is expected to launch in November.
