Steam's Summer Sale is still on, and this limited-time event has made a lot of games drop to their all-time lows. However, for those who are most interested in freebies, Ampersat has just been discounted by 100% on Steam. This free game deal will remain active until July 6, 2025, UTC 16:00.
Developed by Gaterooze, Ink, Ampersat is described as a top-down dungeon crawler that's filled with action. It's basically a hybrid between twin-stick shooter, RPG, and hack-and-slash. According to the players who have played this currently free game, it has a strong roguelite flavor as well.
The game features more than 50 levels, which are filled with light puzzles. There's an optional procedural area that players can explore, and this area is said to be loot-heavy with increasing difficulty. Combat-wise, there are both melee and ranged weapons.
Players have the option to approach battles as they like as well, but the combat of this currently free game is regarded as fast-paced. Other than that, Ampersat handles character progression through an extensive skill tree. Per reviews, equipment and perks can vary, which allows gamers to employ different strategies and adds a replayability element.
On that note, there are over 50 unique enemies in the game that's currently free on Steam. There are 10 challenging bosses that require players to employ different tactics.
When it comes to the visuals, Ampersat features 3D environments with a retro-modern hybrid aesthetics. There's support for shared split-screen co-op, and the game has proper controller support (EasySMX X15 curr. $31.99 on Amazon). You can learn more from the video attached below.
