The NanoPi R4S is now orderable from FriendlyELEC. The single-board computer starts at US$45 and comes with a Rockchip RK3399 chipset. The device is available with 1 GB or 4 GB of RAM and an optional CNC metal case.

FriendlyELEC has made the NanoPi R4S available to purchase, just a few weeks after CNX Software discovered references to the device on the company's wiki. The single-board computer is available from US$45, albeit this SKU only has 1 GB of RAM. Stepping up to 4 GB of RAM costs another US$10, while the CNC case pictured above is another US$14.

To recap, the NanoPi R4S has a Rockchip RK3399 chipset that integrates four ARM Cortex-A72 cores, four ARM Cortex-A53 cores and an ARM Mali-T864 GPU. There is also a microSD card reader, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 connection via a 4-pin header and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. Moreover, FriendlyELEC has included 10 GPIO pins, a fan header and a USB Type-C port that supplies 5V/3A of power.

It is worth noting that the NanoPi R4S does not have built-in Wi-Fi. There is now an extensive wiki for the NanoPi R4S too, including how to get the machine running on various OSes. The NanoPi R4S is in stock on FriendlyELEC, although the company notes that delivery can take 30-45 days to many countries.
