Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders has sold an estimated 2.5 million copies since its October 30, 2025, launch, grossing over $100 million at a remarkably lower $39.99 price point, with Steam accounting for 69.2% of sales, concurrent peaks above 350,000 players, and a 90% “Very Positive” rating from 56,000 reviews.

Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders has cemented itself as one of the best-selling extraction shooters of 2025. Released on October 30, 2025, Arc Raiders has sold an estimated 2.5 million copies across PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam and Epic Games. Priced at $39.99, the game has reportedly raked in over $100 million in gross revenue.

Alinea Analytics, known for tracking video game sales, pegged Steam as the leading sales platform, accounting for 69.2% of units sold, equating to almost 1.7 million copies. This was followed by PlayStation, with 17.3% or 400,000 units, and Xbox, accounting for 13.5% or 300,000 units.

Embark Studios' Arc Raiders, which pivoted from a free-to-play model to a paid launch, celebrated its launch day with 253,486 concurrent players, with an all-time peak of 354,836 players on November 2, causing Arc Raiders' servers to cripple under traffic.

Since its launch, the game has maintained a healthy player base of over 300,000 daily players on Steam alone, with player counts consistently remaining above 90,000.  Gamers have awarded the game with a 90% Very Positive rating based on 56,000 reviews. Arc Raiders has maintained a top position on Steam’s Most Played Charts, trading the number three spot with Battlefield 6 consistently.

Embark’s prior entry into the multiplayer FPS title The Finals dwarfs in comparison to Arc Raiders' success, making it one of the biggest extraction shooter releases on Steam.

Despite the title’s monumental ongoing success, Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics states, “As an extraction shooter, Arc Raiders does not have mass-market appeal. Extraction shooters have always attracted a core group of players who thrive on tension, consequence, and emergent storytelling. But the steep learning curve has limited wider appeal.”

Elliot believes the paid model of Arc Raiders contributes to its stickiness, stating, “The game could be ‘stickier psychologically’ because people may feel that if they paid money for something, they should keep playing. Free-to-play games, meanwhile, have a low barrier to entry and a low barrier to exit.”

However, Embark has promised quest-based and visual storytelling for Arc Raiders as the game slowly matures, akin to Helldivers 2, which could retain its player base in the long run. The studio has already outlined a roadmap for the game, promising its fifth map, Stella Montis, in the North Line update.

Notable streamer and esports juggernaut Shroud, impressed by the Arc Raiders gameplay, has urged fans to vote for it for Game of the Year. However, the live service extraction shooter genre is known for sharp drops. Only time will tell whether Arc Raiders can sustain its momentum.
