Expandable AI workstation with RTX PRO Blackwell introduced in a compact 5L chassis

Manufacturer ASRock has unveiled the two compact workstations, the DeskSlim X600 and DeskSlim B760. These particularly compact desktop platforms can be equipped with either of the two professional graphics cards, the NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition or the NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell.
With these systems, ASRock is targeting professionals who want desktop-class performance and expansion options in the smallest possible chassis. In terms of expandability, the DeskSlim series features a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot that can accommodate a graphics card with a dual-slot design and a length of up to 200 mm.

Let's take a look at the differences between the two models: The DeskSlim X600 features an AM5 socket for processors, supporting AMD Ryzen CPUs up to the 9000 series, while also being compatible with the 8000 and 7000 series. The CPU socket is rated for a maximum of 120 W. The DeskSlim B760, meanwhile, supports 12th-, 13th-, and 14th-generation Intel desktop processors with a power consumption of up to 125 W.
Both models offer four slots for DDR5 UDIMM memory. Maximum memory capacity is 256 GB of RAM. Two M.2 SSD slots (1x Gen 5x4, 1x Gen 4x4) and two SATA 6Gb/s ports round out the internal connectivity options.

With this hardware, ASRock is positioning the DeskSlim series for AI computing, AI-assisted content creation, CAD and 3D workflows, multi-display productivity, and, of course, graphics-intensive applications in general. Prices start around $210 (Amazon) just for the case and mainboard but without storage, CPU und GPU.
