The Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 10 gaming laptop with a stellar OLED display, an RTX 5060 laptop GPU, and a Ryzen 7 260 CPU is now less than $1,000 at Walmart. The 15-inch gaming laptop is among the most well-rounded machines on the market, making the current price drop an excellent deal.

If you are in the market for an affordable gaming laptop that costs less than $1,000, the latest Lenovo Legion 5 15 Gen 10 should be among the frontrunners for your cash. Not only does the laptop nail fundamentals like the chassis and performance, but it can now be yours at a big discount.

Walmart is now offering the Lenovo Legion 5 15 Gen 10 OLED gaming laptop for just $949 instead of the usual $1,249.99 list price. This is a considerable $300 discount, which makes the Legion 5 Gen 10 an even easier recommendation than at full retail.

With the Lenovo Legion 5 15 Gen 10 on sale, you are getting a 15-inch 1600p OLED panel, an RTX 5060 laptop GPU, an 8-core Ryzen 7 260 CPU, 16 GB of DDR5 memory, and 512 GB of storage. The storage and RAM are both expandable thanks to two SO-DIMM and M.2 slots.

Finally, the Legion 5 Gen 10 also carries a 24-zone RGB keyboard, a large 80 WH battery, and a healthy port selection with:

  • Two Type-C ports with one USB 4.0
  • One HDMI 2.1 out
  • Three Type-A connectors
  • A 3.5 mm audio jack

Lenovo has put this hardware to good use, as the Legion 5 15 Gen 10 is a standout decide in its category. In fact, we termed the laptop “the best mainstream gamer” in our review. Our review device featured almost the exact same hardware as the Legion 5 SKU on sale, so be sure to check it out to know everything important about the device. If you’re not much of a reader, we also have a video review on YouTube linked at the end.

To sum up our Legion 5 15 Gen 10 review findings, Lenovo has done a great job with the basics here. The metal-plastic hybrid chassis looks sleek, is durable, and is rather compact for a 15-incher. The 15.6-inch OLED display stands as one of the best in this price segment with 500 nits of SDR brightness (1,000 nits in HDR), stellar color reproduction, factory calibration, and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Our only minor complaint was the PWM flickering and the lack of Nvidia Advanced Optimus.

Similarly, the performance of the Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 10 is also quite good. We noted that the combination of the 115 W RTX 5060 laptop GPU and the 8-core Ryzen 7 260 was powerful enough to deliver smooth 1080p gaming at high/ultra settings. For instance, the laptop played Call of Duty Black Ops 6 at more than 80 FPS at 1080p/ultra.

Thankfully, this performance doesn’t come at the expense of overheating and excessively loud operation. While you will need a pair of headphones when pushing the laptop hard, neither noise nor thermals are remotely an issue during routine use.

Finally, the Lenovo Legion 5 15 Gen 10 can also last for more than 10 hours when playing back video. So, while you’ll need to keep the laptop plugged in, the laptop should last a workday of regular use on a single charge.
