Folks who are on the prowl for a moderately sized OLED TV, will likely already have LG's and Samsung's offerings on their radar. However, the lesser-known Panasonic Z85 OLED TV is also a decent alternative and one that undercuts its competitors in price by a substantial amount. Thanks to an ongoing sale on Amazon, the 65-inch Panasonic Z85 OLED TV can now be purchased for its lowest-ever price on the platform, at just $1,099.
As RTINGS' comprehensive review of the Panasonic Z85 OLED TV indicates, the product is a solid performer by almost every measure. Being an OLED, the Z85 excels in contrast and blooming performance, and sports an impressive color gamut and perfectly admirable pre-calibration accuracy. The viewing angles are excellent, and the same can be said for the Z85 OLED's reflection handling as well. Compared to the pricier LG C4, the Z85 has noticeably lower brightness levels and slightly worse reflection handling, but it is by no means a night and day difference. The Z85, on the other hand, has slightly better viewing angles and color reproduction. In simpler terms, both the TVs leave very little room for complaint in regard to picture quality.
For those who like to game on their TVs, the Panasonic Z85 OLED is an excellent choice. The response times are incredibly low, and its excellent black levels make for a commendable HDR gaming experience, further accentuated by the TV's 120 Hz refresh rate. That said, the Panasonic Z85 utilizes Fire TV OS, which some may deem somewhat inferior to LG's webOS, but that is a matter of individual choice. That said, for its current all-time low sale price on Amazon, the Panasonic Z85 OLED TV clearly has a lot going for it, offering an experience that in many ways keeps up with pricier sets from competitors.
