Free games on the Epic Games Store are generally part of the platform's weekly giveaway program, but the case is different for NightReaper2 and SunBlockers. These two are being given away by the game developer, outside Epic's usual freebie schedule.

Two limited-time free games were just spotted on Epic Games Store, and the interesting aspect about them is that they are not part of the platform's usual game giveaway program. Both of them are being given away by the developer, and this has made them drop to $0 outside the typical freebie refresh window.

It's also worth noting that while one of them is available on Steam, the free-to-claim offer is exclusive to Epic Games Store. As for the current free games under the spotlight, they are: NightReaper2 and Sunblockers. Both are developed and published by DarkGoose4.

From the surface, these two look like nothing but regular indie games, and the gameplay tells the same story. Among the two, NightReaper2 is a stylized dark action title that puts players in control of a small but deadly reaper. The map is filled with troubled villagers and aggressive police patrols, and all of it is ruled by four powerful kings.

The gameplay mostly revolves around exploration, fast-paced combat, and soul harvesting. Its visual style is very similar to comic-horror games (such as Pumpkin Jack), which pair well with the exaggerated characters and haunted environments. This free game will be available to claim for $0 on Epic Games Store until February 28, 2026, and when not on sale, it costs $3.99.

Moving to the second newly spotted free game, it's SunBlockers, which is also from DarkGoose4, but this one takes a different approach. It's a light survival adventure title with clicker-style mechanics. Players get to experience a frozen world that's filled with zombies.

To survive, players need to gather resources, upgrade their abilities, and gradually work to set the trapped sun free. This game has simple controls, and it will be available as a free game on Epic Games Store until February 28, 2026. The retail value of the title is $1.99.

Besides these two, Epic Games Store is currently giving away Definitely Not Fried Chicken. It's part of the regular PC free game giveaway program and will be replaced by two freebies soon.
