Epic Games Store: New free game giveaway now available globally but only for a short time
Throughout this week, the Epic Games Store has been discounting Them's Fightin' Herds from $19.99 to $0.00 as part of its free game giveaway program on PC. While that offer will end at 15:00 UTC today, the company has a new $29.99 free game deal in the pipeline.
Specifically, the storefront has discounted Mortal Shell, an action role-playing that Playstack offers across Windows, Amazon Luna, PlayStation, Xbox and the Nintendo Switch (curr. $295.24 on Amazon). As ever, Epic Games' new free game is only available to redeem on Windows.
For reference, Playstack recommends playing Mortal Shell on an AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 paired with 16 GB of RAM and a relatively recent AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel Core i7 processor. As it stands, Mortal Shell averages 76/100 from critics on Metacritic but 63/100 from users. Similarly, just 64% of critics on OpenCritic would recommend playing Mortal Shell.
Mortal Shell will be joined by an Anniversary Party Favor bundle for World of Warships, which will also be free to grab from 15:00 UTC today. However, the bundle will be available until March 31. According to Epic Games, the Anniversary Party Favor bundle adds 444,444 credits, 44,444 Elite Commander XP and the following other in-game items:
- 1 Japanese Tier IV cruiser (Yūbari)
- 1 Japanese Commander with 3 skill points
- 1 Port slot
- 4 Epic permanent camouflages
- 4 common bonuses containers
- 4 signals containers
