Elon Musk gives a good look of the Cybertruck's interior and 4680 battery during Netanyahu's Tesla factory tour
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is visiting California and one of his meeting sessions with Tesla's CEO Elon Musk included a visit to the Fremont plant. Peppered with DeLorean jokes, the factory tour ended with a Cybertruck ride and Musk himself in the driver's seat. Netanyahu went away visibly impressed, with several "this is the future" and "we are living in the future" remarks while Elon Musk nodded approvingly.
The Cybertruck ride was done at the factory grounds, with Elon Musk accelerating and doing U-turns on a dime to demonstrate the maneuvering abilities of Tesla's first electric pickup truck. Upon his entry in the Cybertruck, a good view of the pickup's interior confirmed most of the remote observations so far, namely the pointy styling of the seats, mirrors, and armrest that match the edgy exterior.
Tesla has even put angular seat adjustment buttons for a style that is completely in sync. Elon Musk also toyed around with the giant central console display before Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara got in. In previous talk, he showed Netanyahu the battery cells that Tesla uses in its vehicles, including the 4680-style ones that go in the Cybertruck, and said that he expects battery production efficiency to rise by up to 8% per year.
Musk is expected to take the stage at Giga Texas and announce the first Cybertruck deliveries in the next few weeks. It seems that the pickup is still undergoing final testing rounds, though, as it was recently caught doing off-road experiments at the Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area near San Jose. The Tesla employees there told onlookers that mass Cybertruck delivery will only happen in October.
