ECOVACS unveils new powerful DEEBOT X5 OMNI robot vacuum
ECOVACS has launched the DEEBOT X5 OMNI robot vacuum and mop in Europe. This is one of three new families of devices unveiled by the brand, like the N20. The X5 tops the range, offering up to 12,800 Pa suction power to deep clean carpets and hardwood floors.
The DEEBOT X5 OMNI is described as ultra-thin at 95 mm (~3.7 inches) tall, with the laser on its side rather than in a tower on top of the device. This lower height means it can travel under lower furniture items for more thorough cleaning. There is a ZeroTangle brush to pick up hair more efficiently, and a dirt detection tool ensures that more heavily soiled areas get a deeper cleaning. TruEdge adaptive edge cleaning with an extendable mop helps to reach within 1mm of the edge of each room. Plus, the robot has an intelligent docking station, where the mop is automatically washed in 70°C (~158°F) water and dried with hot air for up to 150 days of hands-free cleaning. Other features include mop lifting on carpet detection, TrueDetect 3D 3.0 Obstacle Avoidance, and crossing thresholds up to 22 mm (~0.87 inches) high.
Control options include iPhone widgets, Apple Watch, and Amazon Alexa voice commands. The X5 OMNI is available in black or white and runs for up to 164 minutes on a single charge.
