The Battlefield 2042 open beta still kick off on October 6 for early adapters and October 8 for everyone else. EA has also listed the system requirements needed to play the beta. Those are likely tentative and could change with the game's final release.

Not too long ago, EA announced that the Battlefield 2042 release date would be pushed back to November 19- nearly a month away from its initial timeline. We got a glimpse at the game via a leaked video, too. Those looking to get into the action early will be pleased to know that the Battlefield 2042 open beta will go live on October 8. Those who purchased the 'Gold' and 'Ultimate' Edition, and EA Play subscribers can access the title on October 6. However, the open beta closes on October 10, so one can't play the game a whole lot. Then again, an open beta's purpose is to iron out any last-minute kinks, which should be spotted relatively easily by die-hard Battlefield fans.

EA has also revealed the system requirements for playing the Battlefield 2042 open beta on PC. One needs at least a Hexa-core AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or a quad-core Intel Core i5-6600k CPU accompanied with 8GB of RAM and 100GB of hard drive space. Moving on to the graphics side of things, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 560 is recommended. DirectX 12 support is essential, along with at least 4GB of VRAM. Although EA states that these are the minimum specs required to play Battlefield 2042, you can probably get away with some older hardware as long as it's not too old.

Moving on to the 'recommend' specifications, one needs an Intel Core i7-4790 or an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X processor.  It needs to be accompanied by a graphics card with at least 8GB of VRAM. EA recommends that one use an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or an AMD Radeon RX 6600XT. We see no reason why previous-generation Turing and RDNA graphics cards with 8GB VRAM shouldn't work. Other requirements are pretty much identical across the board, such as 64-bit Windows 11 and an internet connection that is faster than 512kb/s.
