The Diamant Mandara 160 Gen 3 e-bike has been revealed via a product listing on the German Trek Bikes website. As indicated by the name, the bicycle can handle loads up to 160 kg (~353 lbs), almost 25 kg (~55 lbs) more than other Diamant models. The extra capacity is made possible with stronger rims, a hardy Suntour suspension fork and strong Shimano MT401 hydraulic disc brakes with a 180 mm brake disc.
You can load some items onto the Mandara 160 using a rear luggage rack, with a weight limit of 25 kg (~55 lbs). The bicycle is powered by a Bosch Performance Line motor with a top assistance speed of 25 kph (~16 mph). Two versions of the bike will be available, with either a 545 Wh or 725 Wh Bosch battery. A built-in frame lock and battery help to reduce the risk of theft, and the bicycle is equipped with a 120 lumens Herrmans front LED headlight and Spanninga tail light to ensure you can see and be seen in lower lighting.
The electric bike has an aluminum frame, with a medium-sized model weighing 29.3 kg (~64.6 lbs). The Diamant Mandara 160 Gen 3 is due to retail for €3,999 to €4,299 (~US$4,020 to US$4,321) in sizes from M to XL. An official launch date has not been provided, and it is unclear in which markets the bicycle will be available.
