It seems that Samsung is preparing to update the Galaxy A series with a new mid-tier option. Likely replacing the Galaxy A25 later this year, the Galaxy A26 will do so with a thinner design, an updated camera module and a slightly taller housing.

Android Headlines and @OnLeaks have partnered again to provide a first look at the Galaxy A26. For context, the Galaxy A26 appears to be one of several upcoming mid-range smartphones from Samsung. As it stands, others include the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the Galaxy A26 carries over many design elements from last year's Galaxy A25 (curr. $299.99 on Amazon). For instance, the flat display and waterdrop notch return, as does Samsung's Key Island motif. Moreover, Samsung will continue to install three rear-facing cameras with an LED flash positioned next to cameras one and two.

However, Samsung is expected to modernise the look of its newer mid-range smartphone with a camera housing that mirrors the one found in the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,249.99 - renewed on Amazon). The Galaxy A26 should be taller and wider than its predecessor, though at 164 x 77.5 mm compared to 161 x 76.5 mm with the Galaxy A25. Conversely, the former will be 0.6 mm thinner thanks to a reported 7.7 mm case thickness. A release date remains unknown for now, as do many key device specifications.
