Dell brings out its Dell Streak 7 (“Looking Glass”) tablet

Device has been officially unveiled, runs Android 2.2 OS

American multinational Information Technology Corporation, based in Texas, United States, Dell Inc. on the 6th of January officially made public the 7-inch Dell Streak 7 Android tablet also known as the “Looking Glass”.

Specifications

The 7-inch Dell Streak 7 sports a capacitive multitouch 800×480 display with Gorilla Glass. This brand new tablet by Dell supports the Android 2.2 OS platform together with Dell’s Stage user interface and access to Android Market. The Looking Glass also offers support for T-Mobile’s 4G network connectivity. Processing is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 platform with a dual-core 1GHz processor. Memory wise too it scores pretty well, with the provision of 16GB of internal memory, expandable via an SD card slot.

Weighing just 1-pound, the all new Dell Streak 7 also comes with a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera, and front 1.3MP webcam to capture all those perfect moments. Not only that, the device also features built-in mobile broadband support SMS and MMS messaging. Connectivity is ensured owing to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and GPS, in addition to optional T-Mobile 4G and 3G capability.

Availability

 Although there has been no word on pricing, what we do know is that the 7-inch Dell Streak 7 will be available shortly in the US, i.e. in the coming couple of weeks at T-Mobile retail stores, www.t-mobile.com, and off course the direct route from Dell.
