Dell outs the Streak 10 Pro in China

Teaser
Dell releases the next version of its Streak series in China, no confirmations on the release dates in the US

US computer giant Dell has just released the Streak 10 Pro in China, with pretty standard configurations actually – the 10.1” display screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels that comes with Corning's Gorilla Glass, 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 T20 chip, Honeycomb, 1GB DDR2 RAM, , 5 megapixel camera and 2 megapixel camera back and front. There is also a standard size SDHC slot.

It looks as ordinary as the specs sound. There is the typical 10.1” glossy panel with the front camera towards the top of the panel while holding in landscape mode. The Honeycomb UI is not heavily customized and looks snappy while the reviewer from Engadget plays around. There is a dedicated soft button on the left bottom along with the usual Honeycomb ones that is Dell’s own. This takes you to an alternative business centric home screen that has a few that kind of widgets like the calendar, email etc. that you anyway can drag onto the default home screen as well.

On the left side is a micro USB port and hidden behind a plastic cover are two card slots – a SIM and another SDHC. There are no plans currently to launch it in 3G for China – but this could indicate a possible release in other parts of the world. There is a pair of speakers and the dock connector, and the right side has the volume rocker, 3.5mm headphone jack and the mic. The backside is covered in a brushed metallic look.

Engadget was told that the tablet would soon receive compatible docking accessories, including a desktop dock and a multi-purpose dongle (with HDMI-out, micro-USB, and an extra 40-pin connector).

The Streak 10 will be sold at ¥2,999 ($465) which is very competitive when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and iPad 2. There is no confirmation of release dates for USA and Europe as yet.
