In conclusion, the Dell XPS 9370 is one of the best ultra-portables you can get these days, but is not necessarily the update I’ve been expecting for this iconic series, and I feel Dell has to step up their game with the next iteration if they want to keep the lead in the class, as the competition gets closer by the day.

The Dell XPS 9370 is one of the best ultra-portables you can get these days, even if not necessarily the update I've been expecting as a long-term user of an older XPS 13. Dell focused on making it smaller and lighter, while updating the screens, adding a few extra features and improving aspects that lead to slightly tweaked performance and thermals, but at the same time the IO and battery took a hit, and some of the QC and practicality quirks people have been complaining about on the previous XPS 13s were not addressed. Read on for the in-depth analysis.

It's not quite topping the latest MacBook Pro, but the Dell XPS 13's slim dimensions, knockout power and great design mean it's still one of the best laptops we've ever seen.

Dell has a solid history of producing premium laptops under its XPS banner. The little brother, XPS 13, had a makeover at the turn of the year and now features 8th Gen quad-core, octo-thread processors from Intel.

The Dell XPS 13 is a lot thinner than the last version, and has a neat new fingerprint scanner built into the power button. Even the entry-level display spec is great, while every aspect of the laptop's build is great quality.

Yes, the new XPS 13 lives up to the reputation of the model that it replaces by being a very fine Windows notebook. There’s a lot to like about the notebook, but let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first.

It’s finally happened: Dell has created a true MacBook killer. Faster, cheaper and lighter than the top-spec 13in MacBook Pro, the XPS 13 is the best laptop we’ve ever seen. All hail the new king.

At a starting price of Rs 97,770, the Dell XPS 13 is certainly on par with the competition and if you live with its downsides like the MicroSD card slot, an average battery life and no touchscreen on the entry-level models, it’s certainly worth purchasing.

There is a sole leader in the business devices segment and that’s Apple. A lot of manufacturers are trying to copy its design. Yes – some of them have achieved minor success, offering similar specs (and design) for a far lower price. The notebook we talked about today is a successor to the original “MacBook killer” – XPS 13 (9360). Dell channeled their effort and resources at something new – something that’s going to stand out. And they clearly made it. The neat and stylish design hides a device of impressive performance and beautiful screen.

With a new design that catches up to the competition, Dell's XPS 13 remains one of the best all-around 13-inch laptops, but everyone's biggest gripe remains unchanged.

If you need a compact, high performance Windows laptop, the 2018 Dell XPS 13 is the best laptop you can buy alongside the 8th-gen Lenovo Yoga 920. It is competitively priced, and even the high-end touchscreen Core i7 model at £1,649 is at least £300 cheaper than the same spec 13in MacBook Pro.

Dell has undoubtedly done it again. In directly addressing the concerns of users, Dell has refined its XPS 13 laptop further than perhaps ever before. So much so that we’re inclined to give this laptop our Best in Class award all over again.

Model: With its 2018 XPS 13, Dell has managed to make a laptop that only the most demanding users will be able to find tangible fault in. There are some cheaper rivals, but it successfully undercuts Microsoft’s Surface range for value for money. Now, after multiple generations of sticking with the same chassis, Dell's premium flagship has a new design with slimmer dimensions and a beautiful white-and-gold color scheme. The XPS 13 9370 weighs just 2.65 pounds and is a mere 0.46 inch thick at its thickest point (0.3 inch at its thinnest). Unfortunately, when slimming the XPS 13 down to 0.46 inch, Dell had to ditch the standard, USB Type-A ports and full-size SD card reader that appeared on all the previous generations. On the left side of the XPS 13 9370, a user will find two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which can charge the laptop or connect to high-speed peripherals. There's also a Noble lock slot and a battery gauge, which shows the charge level on a series of five white lights. The laptop sports a Core i7-8550U CPU, 16 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and a 4K touchscreen. Thanks to Dell's new cooling system, these laptops were also capable of delivering better-sustained performance on long tasks, such as compressing a 4K video or running the same benchmark 10 times in a row.
As they heat up during intense tasks, most laptops slow their CPUs down to cool them down. Because it uses a new thermal setup with dual fans, dual heat pipes, and special thermal insulation, the XPS 13 9370 is able to prevent its processor from throttling as aggressively as many other laptops. With its integrated Intel UHD 620 GPU, the XPS 13 9370 is good enough for doing light video editing or playing some games at low settings. The XPS 13 9370's 13.3-inch, InfinityEdge display has bezels that are 23 percent thinner than the almost nonexistent borders on the XPS 7360. Because there's virtually no frame around the top and sides of the screen, images just seem to pop more. The touchscreen 3,840 x 2,160 4K Ultra HD looks incredible. The insanely high resolution looks amazing on a 13-inch panel and color reproduction is a pleasant level of saturated. Dell claims the 52 Wh battery can run for up to 19 hours in some conditions. It certainly excels in battery life and charges remarkably fast with the supplied charger. Bear in mind that Dell has cut this down from 60 Wh in the previous generation. This is to save on weight and component space, while the next-gen processors should make the smaller capacity more efficient. With the XPS 13 9370, Dell has moved the webcam from the lower left corner of the bezel to the center bottom. Yes, it's still a "nose cam" that looks up at a user, but because the lens is centered, it gets a much better angle. Image quality was on a par with other premium laptops and there was only a limited amount of visual noise in the background.

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
