DJI Neo 3 leak reveals notable weight increase as production-date listing surfaces

The DJI Neo 3 has cropped up in another leak, just days after retail packaging revealed the drone and its new RC Mini controller in greater detail. This time, a supposed Chinese registration entry has provided key technical information about DJI’s next compact drone. As spotted by Igor Bogdanov, the listing identifies the Neo 3 by its previous model number (DEN326 ) with a production date of September 21, 2026. It lists both its empty weight and maximum take-off weight as 0.1927 kg, or 192.7 g. For perspective, the Neo 2 weighed 151 g, making the next-gen model about 41.7 g, or 28%, heavier.

The increase also provides some context for changes visible in earlier leaks. An earlier leak showed that DJI has redesigned the propeller guards with a hub-and-spoke structure. At the same time, the aircraft itself features additional rear ventilation and what appears to be a new top-facing sensor. A subsequent image revealed the contents of the Neo 3 Fly More Combo: three flight batteries, a charging hub, and DJI’s new RC Mini remote, plus an Expansion Cover, Anti-Loosening Pad, spare propellers, and other accessories.

Bogdanov has also published registration information for another unannounced DJI drone, the Matrice 5TD. Listed under the model number M5TD, the enterprise drone is shown with a 2.6 kg empty weight and a 3.05 kg maximum take-off weight.

The existing Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD weigh 1.85 kg with their batteries, propellers and microSD cards installed, with a maximum take-off weight of 2.09 kg. Thus, the leaked Matrice 5TD figures point to a significantly larger aircraft. However, one must keep in mind how the two registrations differ in empty weight—something that has not been established yet.
