DFRobot, the company behind the LattePanda, has announced the Unihiker, a single-board computer (SBC) with a built-in display. According to DFRobot, the Unihiker measures 83 x 52 x 13 mm, making it comparable in size to the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. The SBC is not as powerful as the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B though, nor the LattePanda.
Instead, the Unihiker relies on the Rockchip RK3308, a chipset with four ARM Cortex-A35 CPU cores clocked at 1.2 GHz but no video accelerator. DFRobot complements that chipset with a GD32VF103C8T6 RISC-V co-processor, plus 512 MB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of eMMC storage on which it installs Debian OS. Additionally, the SBC has a Micro SD card reader for expansion purposes and the following I/O:
- 4x 3-pin GPIO
- 2x 4-pin GPIO I2C
- 1x 6-axis motion sensor
- 1x Buzzer
- 1x Edge Connector
- 1x LED
- 3x Pushbuttons
- 1x Microphone
- 1x Light sensor
- 1x USB Type-A
- 1x USB Type-C
Moreover, the Unihiker has a 2.8-inch display that outputs at 240 x 320 pixels. DFRobot adds that it has included a Realtek RTL8723DS modem too for Bluetooth 4.0 and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity. Currently, the Unihiker is orderable for US$79 before shipping and taxes. Please see the Unihiker wiki for full details.
