Clear-cut Galaxy S23 Ultra 200 MP camera test photo wholly outclasses S22 Ultra 108 MP comparison effort
The leaker Ice universe has moved on somewhat from frequently discussing the expected design of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (flatter display, less rounded corners) to sharing information about the flagship smartphone’s camera equipment. The source has already provided a variety of details about what could be coming to the Galaxy S23 Ultra but has recently gone a step further by offering a comparison between an image purportedly taken by the 2023 model and its S22 Ultra predecessor.
Obviously, if the leak is genuine then the photo would have been taken with a prototype Galaxy S23 Ultra as there is still a lot of work to be done by Samsung from now until the likely launch date timeframe of February 2023. However, the differences between the photo taken with the 200 MP lens of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the 108 MP main sensor of the Galaxy S22 Ultra are clearly distinguishable. It may not be the most exciting image comparison subject ever but the rumors swirling in regard to S23 Ultra camera superiority can be clearly seen here.
The photo on the left is much sharper than the image on the right, which practically looks primitive in comparison with it blurred outlines, lower resolution, and lack of definition. It’s hard to believe that the S22 Ultra’s 108 MP camera can be so completely outclassed, but that is what is shown here by the effort produced by the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200 MP unit, which logically should be much better anyway considering the spec bump. Ice universe also mentions that 16x magnification was in place for the cropped shots and that “AI enhancement” was not in operation.
