Deal | Citizen's black stainless-steel Eco-Drive chronograph drops to all-time low on Amazon, 52% off

Amazon has the Citizen Eco-Drive Weekender's black-on-black reference down to $189.50 as of writing. That is a solid 52% cut off its $395 MSRP. Checking the actual price history rather than taking Amazon's discount math at face value: Keepa data shows this watch has mostly traded between $230 and $310 over the past three months, and it has spiked as high as roughly $310 in early July before settling lower. At $189.50, it's not just off list price — it's well below anywhere this specific listing has priced in recent memory, with Amazon itself shipping the watch at that price instead of a third-party seller.
The watch itself is an Eco-Drive chronograph with a black stainless steel case and bracelet, a linen-textured black dial, day/date subdials, luminous hands and markers, mineral crystal, and a unidirectional rotating bezel. Eco-Drive means it runs on light and not a swappable battery. It's interesting to note that Amazon's own spec sheet lists "Battery Powered" as the power source, which undersells how the movement actually works; there's no coin cell to replace under normal use, just periodic light exposure to keep the capacitor charged. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters with a push-button foldover clasp and safety latch on the bracelet, and Citizen backs it with a five-year limited warranty.
Reviews also back up the price-to-quality read: 4.5 stars across 220 ratings, with 74% 5-star and just 7% at one or two stars combined. A brown-leather, blue-dial variant is also listed alongside this one at $260, down from $325. However, that's a much smaller discount. It's also worth checking against its own price history before assuming it's an equivalent deal.
