The Galaxy S22 Ultra has launched in a number of new and interesting finishes, from a first-gen Burgundy shade to the Sky Blue option that debuted as an exclusive on Samsung.com. However, all of them have failed to be gold, titanium or carbon fiber thus far. Caviar has fixed this situation now, however, with its take on the South Korean giant's new flagship phablet.
The notorious custom-phone company has tweaked the S22 Ultra's looks significantly, with the end results being 6 different finishes that make the phone look much more like a Vertu than a Samsung. They each have their own name and combination of flashy amendments, from the "Titanium" (finished in the eponymous metal with "automotive carbon" accents) to the "Ocelot" (electroplated gold with more, laser-engraved, titanium).
All 6 styles, which apparently started life as ordinary Phantom Black S22 Ultra units, will be available in batches of 99. Then again, Caviar may have missed a trick by not enriching their S Pens (it has not even mentioned this latest Ultra feature on its website).
Nevertheless, they start at an inflation-ignoring US$6,250. Then again, there are also similarly-customized Galaxy S22 and S22+ units, starting at a more affordable $5,980 for a Titanium base model. It would be interesting to see how any of these new Caviar Galaxy S22 Ultras would fare in a drop test.
