Wristwatch shoppers looking for durability and utility in a unique design have always been drawn to Casio’s G-Shock line of watches. However, GAB2100CT-1A5 is selling for $95 on Amazon. This is a significant 47 percent discount from its usual $180 listing price.
The GAB2100CT-1A5 features a slim octagonal case measuring 48.4 x 45.4 x 11.9 mm and weighing 57 g. However, the GAB2100CT-1A5 has something else going for it: the band. Casio collaborated with TrueCotton and Food Textile to create a cloth strap made from organic cotton, dyed with a dye derived from food waste. The dark brown hue actually comes from coffee, a detail that eco-conscious buyers will appreciate.
On the more technical side, the GAB2100CT-1A5 features Tough Solar charging, meaning it will require fewer battery charges in its lifetime as it can last up to 18 months between charges. The watch, like others in the series, also has Bluetooth connectivity through the Casio Watches app. Wireless pairing lets you automatically sync time and use phone-finding services to locate your watch.
The GAB2100CT-1A5 is suited for an active lifestyle, with a 200 m (20 bar) water resistance rating. It can stay on your wrist during swimming, snorkelling, and other harsh-environment adventures.
Other standout features include shock-resistant construction, about 300 world time cities, white double-LED illumination, countdown timer and stopwatch functionalities, and five daily alarms.
Meanwhile, the cloth strap has had mixed reviews on Amazon. However, it can be easily swapped out for a 21 mm replacement band. You can see more details about the Casio G-Shock GAB2100CT-1A5 in the video attached below.
