One of HP's best entry-level laptops in years is now on sale for $550 or $130 off the original launch price. The OmniBook 5 14 may be the most budget-oriented option in the OmniBook family, but it still offers plenty of surprises considering its low entry price.
As detailed in our review of the machine, the HP system is notable for its glossy OLED display, P3 colors, thin EliteBook-like design, and extra-long battery life of over 16 hours in our real-world browsing tests. These attributes are made more extraordinary by the fact that other 14-inch laptops in this price range tend to offer only IPS with thicker or cheaper plastic designs in comparison.
The main sticking point to keep in mind is that the OmniBook 5 14 ships with a Qualcomm ARM processor instead of a traditional one from Intel or AMD. Windows on ARM is hit or miss with many of our own benchmarks and applications failing to run properly. It's recommended to check that your most commonly used applications can run natively on ARM or without any issues before jumping in on the sale.
