Deal | CarlinKit 5.0 Apple CarPlay & Android Auto wireless adapter almost 47% off on Amazon
Available on Amazon since late April, the CarlinKit 5.0 wireless adapter (model CPC200-2air) is the follower of the CarlinKit 4.0(CPC200-CP2A), which also sports compatibility with iPhone 6 or smartphones running at least Android 11. Its list price of US$104.99 is currently down by roughly 47% thanks to a checkout coupon of US$49 currently available for Amazon US customers.
Advertised as compatible with 98% of car models, the CarlinKit 5.0 has a 5G chip with Bluetooth 4.1 and OTA upgradeable firmware. It can convert wired Apple CarPlay to wireless CarPlay or Android Auto to wireless, but can't cross-convert CarPlay to Android Auto or the other way around.
When converting from wired to wireless, the wired capabilities remain active. Obviously, wireless support can handle all the features of the system, including navigation, music playback, interaction with the virtual assistant, phone calls, messages, and so on.
After the first pairing, the system will require between 10 and 25 seconds to connect. When used with an iPhone 6, the handset should run at least iOS 10. The CarlinKit 5.0 comes with one year warranty and lifetime technical support. The retail package is quite spartan, including the adapter, a data cable, and the product manual.
