UPDATED | Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile reportedly in the works for a 2022 release
UPDATE 07-12-2021, 17:59 CEST: PlaytestCloud issued a clarification stating that the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile listing is not an official one. It has subsequently removed the game from its database and says that it does not have any information about the title.
Original story
Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile took the mobile gaming space by storm and continue to dominate the battle royale genre. Krafton wanted to take things further and launched PUBG: New State, a next-generation refresh of its title. It appears that Call of Duty: Warzone intends to follow suit if a new leak online is to be believed.
Twitter leaker Tom Henderson stumbled upon mentions of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile on the PlaytestCloud database. He adds that the game is slated for a 2022 release but neglected to mention an exact date. That's all we know about the title for now. In all likelihood, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is already being tested, albeit secretly.
If Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is indeed bound to arrive in 2022, we can expect an official announcement from Activision in the not-too-distant future. An open beta program should follow suit soon. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile could very well be Activision's answer to EA's Battlefield Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile in the jam-packed mobile gaming arena.
