CES 2022 | HP adds to its portfolio of business laptops with the Elitebook 605 G9 series of notebooks powered by AMD Ryzen 5000 family of mobile CPUs
First, the Elitebook 645 G9 is powered by AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors. We have no details about the specific CPU models as HP hasn’t specified any CPU models. Because the Elitebook 605 series is targeted towards the budget-conscious business segment, we wouldn’t be surprised if the CPU options are limited to low and mid-range chips.
On the display side of things, the Elitebook 645 G9 comes with a 14-inch 16:9 aspect ratio screen with either a TN or an IPS panel. If you choose to go with the TN panel, you will be limited to only 250 nits of brightness and HD (1280 x 720) resolution. While on the IPS side, you can go all the way up to a panel with 1000 nits of brightness and an FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution. All panels come with an anti-glare coating, allowing the displays to be visible in harsh lighting conditions.
Other specs include support for up to 64 GB of user-replaceable 3200 DDR4 RAM, up to a 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD with an optional second SSD, and a 51.3 Whr battery. The battery on the Elitebook 605 series supports fast charging.
HP has also included a healthy number and variety of ports on the Elitebook 645 G9. There are two USB-A 3.1 ports, one Thunderbolt 4, one ethernet port, a headphone/microphone combo jack, an HDMI 2.0 port, one nano sim slot, and a 4.5 mm barrel port for charging.
The Elitebook 655 G9 is identical to the Elitebook 645 G9 except for a bigger 15.6-inch screen and the lack of a panel with 1000 nits of brightness. Everything else, including the memory and storage configuration options, are the same. Finally, both machines have a MIL-STD-810H certification for resistance against drops, spill-resistant keyboards, and recycled plastic keycaps.
There is no word from HP about the pricing or the availability just yet.
