Asus unveils stylish mini tower with AMD Ryzen and wood or fabric front panel

The Asus V500 Mini Tower is getting a complete makeover for 2026. While last year’s model still featured a strikingly designed front panel and was equipped with Intel processors, the new model offers a choice between a light gray fabric front panel or a wood-grain front panel, though no real wood is used.
Buyers can choose between the AMD Ryzen 5 220 and the AMD Ryzen 7 260. The top-of-the-line model therefore features eight processor cores based on the Zen 4 architecture, which reach boost clock speeds of up to 5.1 GHz, as well as an integrated AMD Radeon 780M. While the fast iGPU can handle older and less demanding games, the Asus V500 is still far from being a dedicated gaming PC. The PC has a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, so in theory, a desktop graphics card could be installed. However, in that case, the 180-watt power supply would also need to be replaced.
Since Asus uses a laptop processor, the V500 features two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, meaning it uses laptop RAM instead of desktop RAM. Thanks to the efficient laptop chip with a TDP of 45 watts, the tower is designed to operate particularly quietly. Asus has included two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the front panel. The rear panel features three additional USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1b, DisplayPort 1.4, and Gigabit Ethernet. Storage can be expanded after purchase via a second M.2 slot.
Pricing and availability
The Asus V500 Mini Tower (VM501MH) is expected to be available soon, either with an AMD Ryzen 5 220, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD for €599 ($680), or with a Ryzen 7 260 and the same storage configuration for €649 ($740). Asus did not yet confirm US pricing. More details about the V500 can be found at on the official product page.
