Asus has officially teased the Zenfone 12 Ultra, which is expected to be a rebrand of the ROG Phone 9 Pro. With a 15-second clip, the company showcased the super-thin bezels of the smartphone, and just like the ROG sibling, its display features a centered punch-hole.
The teaser video also confirmed that the Zenfone 12 Ultra will come with a headphone jack, which has become quite rare in flagship phones these days. However, seeing it being present in Asus' upcoming phone isn't surprising, as the ROG Phone 9 Pro also features it.
Asus' ROG Phone 9 Pro brings 32-bit Hi-Res audio support through its 3.5 mm audio jack, and the Zenfone 12 Ultra is expected to have the same. For wireless audio, the phone is expected to carry over the aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, and aptX HD support from its ROG sibling.
Besides the display and the 3.5 mm jack, nothing much has been shown in the teaser video. However, if the Zenfone 12 Ultra actually ends up being a rebrand of ROG Phone 9 Pro, it will pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This flagship SoC could be paired with the advanced cooling setup that the ROG phone enjoys.
Other expected features of the Zenfone 12 Ultra include a 50 MP primary camera that's paired with 32 MP telephoto and 13 MP ultrawide, a 5800 mAh battery with 65 W fast charging support, and up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Asus has yet to confirm the launch date and price of the smartphone (ROG Phone 9 Pro available on Amazon).
