Asus has refreshed their VivoBook Pro 15 ultrabook family with three new models – the M589VD, the N580 and the X580. The new models are only 0.8”-thick and weigh 5.1 lbs thanks to Asus’ advanced aluminum unibody chassis. CPU options include the mid-range Core i5-7300HQ, or the high-end i7-7700HQ. All the new models are powered by the latest Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM.
The ultrabooks are equipped with either 8 or 16 GB of DDR4, and storage is provided by an M.2 256 GB SSD. All the latest VivoBook Pro 15 models integrate the 15.6-inch 1080p display that reproduces 100% of the sRGB color standard and 72% of the NTSC, while offering wide 178 degrees viewing angles. Specific to these models is the Harman/Kardon dual 8cc speakers system with Smart Amplifier technology. Other features include a white backlit keyboard, a fingerprint sensor, an intelligent dual fans cooling system, and the Aus proprietary fast-charge technology that can charge the battery to 60% in only 49 minutes. On the connectivity side, the ultrabooks include one USB 3.1 Type-C and HDMI 1.4 connectors.
Prices range from US$799 for the i5-7300HQ model up to US$999 for the i7-7700HQ version and are available now at retailers across the world.
I first stepped into the wondrous IT&C world when I was around seven years old. I was instantly fascinated by computerized graphics, whether they were from games or 3D applications like 3D Max. I'm also an avid reader of science fiction, an astrophysics aficionado, and a crypto geek. I started writing PC-related articles for Softpedia and a few blogs back in 2006. I joined the Notebookcheck team in the summer of 2017 and am currently a senior tech writer mostly covering processor, GPU, and laptop news.
