Just an illusion. Asus has a strong gaming notebook available in its array called VX7, Its looks have been inspired by the Italian noble car manufacturer Lamborghini. Find out in this review why the sprout from its own G53 couldn't really convince us despite strong components.

The 15.6″ Asus Lamborghini VX7 targets anyone with a fondness for Lamborghinis, famed for their legendary acceleration and top speed. All in all, weak build quality together and feeble battery life mean we hesitate to recommend the Asus Lamborghini VX7. I can’t help mentioning that VX7 is a beautiful looking machine.

The Asus-Automobili Lamborghini VX7 may pack some impressive power under the hood, but its poor build quality and software issues detract from both the Lamborghini and Asus names. If you're looking for a high-performance machine to tackle editing tasks and games, your money will be better spent elsewhere.

There are worse branded computers out there. Calvin Klein recently lent his signature to a decidedly average Froyo tablet. But the only thing that the VX7 really has in common with a supercar is the price tag.

If you want to up your usage from pictures and web browsing to editing video and playing games, then the Asus really comes into its own. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 460QM is one of Nvidia's top GPUs and when we tested Need for Speed: Shift and Tom Clancy's HAWX, each on the highest detail settings, the VX7 showed no signs of lag.

Asus has gone all-out to produce a luxury specialist notebook that will make you the envy of your friends, whilst being one of the finest gaming laptops currently on the market, thanks to the new Sandy Bridge CPU and upgraded Nvidia graphics card. You'll pay a very high price for it, though.

There are plenty of things I would’ve liked to still go on about in regards to the Asus VX7, but alas, time and space are indeed something to take into account. The fact of the matter is that the device is a pretty solid gaming notebook, yet I cannot help but feel that Asus didn’t give it their best and I say that because I do like their gaming notebook lineup, with the Republic of Gamers series especially.

The ASUS Automobili Lamborghini VX7 has looks that kill, but even when you factor in the premium for the design, the performance doesn't quite match the $2,269 price. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of bass when playing music and games, and the VX7's keyboard flex gives us some pause. For about $700 less, you can get an ASUS G53SW with the same gaming prowess--but with less storage and no Blu-ray. If you're looking for a true desktop replacement, you can get an Alienware M17x with all the same specs, but with a larger 17-inch display, better audio, and cool backlight customizations for around the same price. Still, gamers who happen to be Lamborghini aficionados will no doubt swoon over the VX7. Just be sure to get the orange lid.

There is no denying that this is one of the most souped-up laptops we’ve had our hands on. The high-end specs and large amount of storage is let down by poor battery life, a lack of portability and a look that is definitely an acquired taste. There are cheaper alternatives with similar specs, but If you love Lambo and are looking for a laptop ripe for gaming, the VX7 could be the one for you.

The Lamborghini VX7 takes ASUS' gaming platform and adds prestigious sports car branding and bodywork to the package. It's a desktop replacement notebook that has powerful specs and great user comfort. But we think it's a little underdone and it was also a little temperamental during our tests, just like a real sports car we're guessing.

Trying to decide whether the ASUS Lamborghini VX7 is worth the money is a little difficult. On the one hand, the VX7 has the prestige branding of an iconic sports car manufacturer and looks that are (for better of worse) unparalleled. On the other hand, it's a little underdone: you can get an Alienware M17x, for example, which has slightly better credentials for $2699.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is a major Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer based in Taipei, founded in 1989. Under the Asus brand name, the company manufactures a wide range of products, including laptops, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, smartphones and networking equipment, complete systems and PC components for end users.
Under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand name, ASUS manufactures gaming laptops known by gamers for their powerful specifications, dedicated graphics cards, high refresh rate displays and advanced cooling systems.
Beyond gaming, a wide range of notebooks are offered for different needs and budgets, from ultra-slim and lightweight ultrabooks to versatile 2-in-1 convertibles and budget-friendly options. In 2023, Asus had a 7% global market share of the PC market.
Customer satisfaction with ASUS notebooks concerns performance, the features, and the good price-performance ratio of ASUS notebooks. However, as with any brand, there are occasional reports of problems such as overheating, driver compatibility, or build quality issues.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M:
High-end DirectX 11 graphics card based on the GF106 chip using GDDR5 graphics memory (up to 1.5 GB).

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
2630QM: Fast Quad-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.

3.772 kg:
A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.
3.8 kg:
76.17%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
