The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 comes at a great price point of S$1498 with a premium Ryzen 7 4800H processor and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. We found this notebook to perform very well in usual compute tasks, but it failed to meet the mark in games. If ASUS was to introduce a GTX 1660Ti variant for the Singapore market instead, we would have a clear and firm recommendation for our readers. However, this time, we would only recommend the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 if you need the raw compute performance of the Ryzen 7 4800H and wouldn’t mind gaming at a lower graphics quality.

The Asus TUF Gaming A15 is a great gaming laptop for those on a budget. It has an excellent Full HD performance, decent display and ample storage for a very generous price. It is a rather ugly laptop though, while its loud fans can be annoying, but such flaws can be overlooked if you're unwilling to pay a few hundred quid more for classier alternatives.

Overall, ASUS delivered a superb system for the price. At $1200 or less for a machine this kind of horsepower, there are always cost-cutting measures that have to be considered, and ASUS mostly made the right decisions. All of the gaming essentials are still here: a wicked-fast CPU, plenty of graphical horsepower, a fast VRR display, and enough cooling to keep it from throttling. The RGB-backlit keyboard is a fun eye catcher, but overall the system wouldn't look out of place doing serious work either—especially with the light show turned off. Anybody who needs great gaming performance without breaking the bank should absolutely look into the ASUS TUF Gaming A15.

ASUS TUF Gaming A15 surprised everyone with the launch of octa-core AMD processors. Even though there is not a lot of difference between this model and the previous model apart from CPU improvement, this alone makes the upgrade worthy and you should buy this laptop if you want a mid-range laptop that allows you to do 1080P gaming at high settings with a high-refresh-rate panel. The graphics card is refreshed, with slightly efficiency improvement, there is minimal improvement in performance. There are some other noticeable differences as well, such as a much larger battery, larger speakers, much better chassis and slightly better display.

If you’re shopping for a gaming notebook and don’t have thousands to spend for, this Asus TUF Gaming FA506 could well be the best bang for your buck in the months to come. With the latest AMD hardware on board, an updated screen and various other improvements over the previous FX505 generation, the 2020 TUF notebook is highly competitive in is class. Yes, it still lacks certain bells and whistles, but it's well priced, performs spectacularly well for its class, and doesn’t majorly compromise on any important aspect.

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
