Deal | Asus Chromebook C203XA discounted by up to 47% on Amazon
Earlier today, I noticed that the Asus Chromebook C203XA was available with a massive 60% discount that pushed its US$249.99 Amazon list price into the sub-US$100 area of the market. Sadly, a few hours later, I refreshed the page and I only noticed a 42% discount. Since I am located in Romania, I refreshed the page using a US IP so I ended up with a 47% discount and a final price of US$133. After a few more tries with IP addresses for Asia and Europe, I can confirm that the discount on this Chromebook is 47% for Asia and the Americas, while Europe gets only 42% (which translates to US$144.95).
Although it comes with a severely dated processor, namely the 2015-released Mediatek MT8173C, the ASUS Chromebook C203XA can still be useful to kids and teenagers, and even adults who just need a resilient tool for (very) light tasks. In addition to the aforementioned processor, this Chrome OS-loaded laptop comes with an 11.6-inch anti-glare HD (1,366 X 768 pixels) display, 4 GB LPDDR3 memory and 32 GB eMMC storage, WiFi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, up to 10 hours battery life, all for a total weight of 2.6 pounds.
Since it was designed with the classroom in mind, the ASUS Chromebook C203XA is compliant with the MIL-STD-810G standard and features a spill-resistant keyboard and a scratch-resistant case.
After 122 user ratings, this Chromebook has a 4.3/5 rating on Amazon. There are 61% perfect ratings and 20% 4/5 ones. The breakdown by feature only highlights four attributes, namely gaming (2.6), touchscreen (quite interesting, it gets a 3/5 score here, but its screen does not support touch input), durability (3.8), and screen quality (4.4).
