In January, Pigtou and @xleaks7 released CAD renders for the iPad mini 6, which they asserted has a 9.15-inch display within a chassis that measures 203.1 x 134.8 x 6.25 mm. While OnLeaks is renowned for his CAD render-based smartphone leaks, Pigtou and @xleaks7 have been correct in their Pixel 4a, Pixel 5 and iPhone 12 series leaks, too.
News about the iPad mini 6 has been quiet since then, but Mark Gurman has reiterated that a new iPad mini will come to market later this year. Writing for Bloomberg, Gurman expects the next iPad mini to have a larger display, which is in line with the claims made by Pigtou and @xleaks7.
Gurman has not divulged any additional details about the iPad mini 6 yet, nor when Apple plans to release it beyond 'as early as this year'. Hence, we doubt that Apple will release the compact tablet in April alongside new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models. The iPad mini 6 may adopt the iPad Pro's design though, as seen in the renders above. Additionally, Pigtou and @xleaks7 claim that the iPad mini 6 will be Apple's first tablet to feature an under-display fingerprint scanner and a hole-punch front-facing camera.
