Rumor | Apple iPhone SE 2 could be announced soon
A considerable number of unannounced Apple devices were recently filed for approval with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), and it appears that the US giant is preparing to launch new iPhone SE models in the EU and Russia regions. The leaked ECC files are in Russian and do not provide any specific hardware information or model names, so it would be advisable to take the following with a grain of salt.
According to GSMAarena, the iPhone SE 2 could be keeping the previous "mini" design, 4-inch screen and Touch ID feature, but Apple would upgrade the SoC to the A10 Fusion from the iPhone 7 launched 2 years ago. The SoC could come with 2 GB of RAM and 32/128 GB storage options. There’s a fair chance that Apple could also upgrade the rear camera with an f/1.8 lens with image stabilization and improved LED flash. Since it would borrow the internals of the iPhone 7, iPhone SE 2 might also get a 7 MP selfie cam with FHD recording capabilities for improved FaceTime sessions. The iOS version would also be upgraded to version 11.
If Apple is to maintain the original US$350 starting MSRP for the upcoming models, the specs are probably going to ditch the improved cameras. Otherwise, the MSRP might go over US$400. The iPhone SE 2 is expected to make an appearance at Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference in early June.
