The Antigravity A1 is getting powerful new control options. These additions make the intriguing 360° drone significantly more versatile, enabling solo sports filming without needing a spotter.

In our review, the Antigravity A1 proved to be a genuinely impressive, highly immersive drone—made all the more remarkable by keeping strictly under the 250-gram weight limit. However, a major point of criticism in our evaluation was that control was restricted exclusively to the Vision goggles and motion controller, despite how well that setup performed. That limitation is now a thing of the past: Antigravity has unveiled three new accessories: the Follow-Me bundle, a standalone remote controller, and a cellular module.

The cellular module features an integrated eSIM to extend operating range. However, we won't be diving deep into it here: for private users—at least in Germany and the wider EU—it remains largely irrelevant. In practice, the primary operational constraint for the Antigravity A1 isn't radio transmission range, but rather the regulatory hurdles associated with Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights, which require a SORA risk assessment and a formal operations manual.

For the average consumer, the €75 remote controller is considerably more compelling. It offers a classic drone control experience. While pairing it with the Vision goggles won't transform the A1 into a lightning-fast FPV racer, initial flight tests revealed reassuringly direct response times—though it lacks the immediate plug-and-play simplicity of the motion controller for beginners. Antigravity will offer the A1 in a bundle with the new controller, though existing owners can also pick it up separately.

The Follow-Me bundle takes a more unconventional route, utilizing a smartwatch-style wearable alongside a small finger ring for controls. Crucially, this setup eliminates the need for goggles entirely. While manual flight via the watch interface feels somewhat fidgety, the bundle shines in automated tracking during outdoor activities. The watch provides a live video feed and allows quick positioning tweaks—similar to the Beacon in HoverAir's lineup. Gesture controls are fully supported and performed reliably in our preliminary tests; a detailed hands-on report will follow soon.

Purchased without the drone, the Follow-Me package includes a protective lens cover, propeller guards (available separately as well), and a shoulder bag. Buyers should note, however, that installing the propeller guards pushes takeoff weight beyond 300 grams, stripping the A1 of its C0 class categorization. The full Follow-Me bundle, including the drone, is priced at €719.
