Anker SOLIX S5000 launched with a battery rated for 15 years of daily use

Anker has launched the Solix S5000, a 5kWh portable power station that the company says can recharge from empty to full in 99 minutes. The unit goes on sale in the US on October 27 through Anker’s online store and Amazon at a launch price of $2,499.99, down from its $3,599.99 list price.
The S5000 stores 5,024Wh in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells rated at 314Ah. Anker rates the battery for 6,000 charge cycles before it falls to 80% of its original capacity, or 10,000 cycles before it reaches 60%, and estimates a lifespan of about 15 years at one or two cycles a day. The unit comes with five years of product coverage.
It delivers 4,500W of continuous power with peaks of up to 8,000W and can run both 120V and 240V appliances. The outlets include an L14-30R 240V socket, a TT-30R connection for RV equipment, NEMA 5-20R sockets, USB-A ports, and a 100W USB-C port.
The power station charges at up to 1,800W from a standard 120V outlet and up to 4,500W from a 240V supply. It also has two solar inputs rated at up to 1,000W and 2,000W, and accepts up to 4,500W from a generator. During a grid outage, the S5000 acts as an uninterruptible power supply and switches to battery power within 10ms. Owners can add up to five expansion batteries to scale capacity from 5kWh to 30kWh, although Anker has not announced pricing for the extra packs.
Anker estimates the unit can power a fridge, a Wi-Fi router, a coffee maker, lights and a phone for up to 48 hours on one charge, or a fridge alone for up to 86 hours. A window air conditioner would run for up to 25 hours, with actual runtime depending on the devices connected.
The S5000 weighs 97lb (about 44kg) and measures 10.6 x 22 x 15.2 inches (about 27 x 56 x 39cm), with built-in wheels and a pull rod for moving it around. Anker rates its operating noise at 30dB and its idle draw on the 120V output at 8.8W, and the unit carries UL 9540 and UL 9540A safety certifications.
Anker claims the S5000 is the longest-lasting 5kWh power station in its class, citing internal tests against selected competitors. It holds more energy than the 3,840Wh Solix F3800, which Anker introduced through Kickstarter in 2023, while weighing less.
The new unit also sits well above the Solix S2000, which we recently reviewed. It has a 2,010Wh LFP battery and 1,500W of continuous output. The S5000 offers two and a half times the capacity and three times the output, along with support for expansion batteries, which the S2000 lacks. Customers who sign up for early access before launch receive a discount pack that Anker values at $1,799.
