Anker MagGo Qi2 Slim 5K: New photos show one of Anker's slimmest power banks yet
The Anker MagGo Qi2 Slim 5K portable charger first popped up in September of this year, and now, it seems that the launch is on the horizon. As shared by credible leaker u/Joshuadwx on r/Anker, this new wireless power bank is expected to launch in the Apple Store soon, with the reported retail price being $49.95.
Another Redditor in the same subreddit, u/Rynalf, appears to have gotten their hands on the power bank early. The Redditor has shared some pictures of the power bank, which suggest that the MagGo Qi 2 Slim will be a cut-down version of the 10K variant. More specifically, u/Rynalf shares that the new 5K model measures 8.8mm thick, while the 10K option measures 14.7mm.
This slimmed-down form factor will make the new MagGo Qi2 Slim more travel-friendly than the other version. Of course, you're not getting the same capacity as the other model, as the new variant has a 5,000mAh capacity instead of 10,000mAh. However, thanks to the power bank having the Qi2 standard, it supports up to 15W wireless charging, the same as the predecessor (curr. $69.99 on Amazon).
There's a USB-C port as well, which maxes out at 20W fast charging, and it's a bidirectional port. However, note that the wired charging will max out at 12W, while the Qi2 wireless charging will be limited to 5W when the power bank is powering up two devices at once.
Another thing worth noting is that the Anker MagGo Qi2 Slim will likely remain Apple Store exclusive for a while. It could be available in other retailers sometime next year.
