Amazfit unlocks new feature for Helio Ring in update
Zepp Health has rolled out an update for the new Amazfit Helio Ring via its app. The smart ring launched in the US in May and arrived in Europe in June. Now, versions 8.10.5 and 8.10.6 of the Zepp app for iOS have unlocked a new feature; it appears that the update has yet to arrive for Android devices.
The Helio Ring is advertised with EDA stress response monitoring technology, designed to help you understand better and manage your emotions. However, it seems that this feature was unavailable for users until now. According to the app update release notes, you can now use the Auto Emotion Monitoring feature. The tool uses the ring's electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor and heart rate variability data to spot changes in your emotional state. You can view this log in the app and note whether Amazfit's suggested emotion matched how you felt. Based on your feedback, the company says that the accuracy of your Stress and Emotions summary will improve over time.
Amazfit notes that the Auto Emotion Monitoring feature must be switched on in the app, and it could reduce the wearable's battery life. The app update also comes with bug fixes, though precisely which issues have been resolved is unclear. You can now download version 8.10.6 of the Zepp app from the Apple App Store to try this new feature for the Helio Ring. When the Android app will be updated remains to be seen. Amazfit has also recently released an update for the GTS 4 Mini.
