Amazfit has unveiled a new feature for its Balance 2 smartwatch. According to the company, the device is now fully compatible with Stryd. This is welcome news for runners who already use both products or have been considering doing so. Amazfit also stated that more smartwatches in its lineup are set to receive Stryd compatibility, though no details have yet been revealed regarding specific models and rollout timelines.
The new Stryd integration offers Balance 2 users new ways to track their runs by enabling the smartwatch to work in tandem with Stryd shoe sensors – a feature previously available on devices from other brands, such as Garmin. Amazfit says the Balance 2 now fully supports metrics transmitted by Stryd and Stryd Duo during runs and walks, alongside automatic data synchronisation.
Once a Zepp app account is linked to a Stryd account, all data will sync to the Stryd platform. According to the company, the run information screen can also be personalised to suit individual user preferences.
With this update, the Amazfit Balance 2 now delivers even greater functionality for athletes. The feature-rich smartwatch launched a few months ago at a recommended retail price of around $299 and is available through Amazon. Meanwhile, the all-new Stryd 5.0 footpod is priced at $299 when purchased directly from the official online shop. However, bundling it with a monthly subscription reduces the price to $199.
