Reviews for the Alcatel 3V
Plastic with style. The Alcatel 3V is priced well and should be powerful enough for casual users. Alcatel has managed to make the device look stylish despite using a plastic case. Find out in this review whether the Alcatel 3V’s internal hardware is as good as it looks.

Don't buy this phone. Alcatel's 3V has a solid, bright, 18:9 display, but the device's awful performance, terrible battery life and uneven cameras make this handset more trouble than it's worth, especially when compared to more-capable inexpensive handsets like the Honor 7X and Moto G6.

While the external cosmetics of the phone are quite nice, the Alcatel 3V could have been a contender in this segment of the market had it not skimped on processing power, storage, and RAM but the corners cut in these areas ultimately let it down.

The Alcatel 3V lays on a big, bold display, and it’s possible to pick one up for significantly less than the RRP. But its cheap design, inconsistent performance and mediocre custom UI leave it trailing behind the very best of the sub-£200 pack.

The Alcatel 3V doesn't have the best hardware and it's not very pretty, but considering the impressively low price, this budget offering packs a lot in.

The Alcatel 3V is not going to challenge the $500+ mid-range or flagship market, but Alcatel did a good job in providing a low-cost alternative that looks like a phone much more expensive when laid side-by-side. It is a solid spare phone or a first phone for your children.

On the surface, the Alcatel 3V is a lot of phone for not much money. However, as is so often the case, it's a little too good to be true.

The Alcatel 3V packs a surprising number of features you'd expect from a phone at least twice its price, making it an attractive big-screen, low cost smartphone.

At this price, and with its feature set, the 3V is a very compelling device and one that has potential to shake things up a little in the bottom end of the market. There are some compromises, like the lack of fast-charging, and very minimal amounts of memory. But in this market, compromises are needed to make phones affordable. Whether they're the right compromises or not is yet to be seen.

This display is quite big for a smartphone but frequently used for smartphones.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.0.155 kg:
Only few smartphones are more lightweight than this.
Alcatel:
The former French manufacturer of telecommunication equipment merged to Alcatel-Lucent in 2006. Several business segments were sold to other companies, so the Alcatel brand is now used by various companies. The Chinese company TCL uses the brand names "Alcatel One Touch" and "Alcatel Idol" for smartphones and tablets.
The market share in the smartphone + tablet segment is very small, but there are quite some recent reviews in different languages. The ratings are average (as of 2016).
62.83%: Such a bad rating is rare. There exist hardly any notebooks, which are rated worse.
