Acer unveils a new Haswell Chromebook priced at just $199
Acer America announced a new Chromebook for budget conscious users that uses an Intel Celeron processor from the Haswell family, being able to deliver excellent performance for the price and up to 8.5 hours of battery life. According to the official press release, "The Acer C720-2848 is a great option for families and students on a budget who need an effective way to be productive, share Google Docs with study groups, access apps for school, pay bills and stay in touch via social networks."
With a weight of only 2.76 pounds and 0.75 inches thick, the Acer C720-2848 offers the following specs:
- Processor: 1.4 GHz Intel Celeron 2955U with Intel HD Graphics
- Memory/Storage: 2 GB DDR3; 16 GB SSD and up to 100 GB of Google Drive cloud space

The new Acer C720 is painted in Granite Gray and can be already pre-ordered from Amazon ($229.99 with free shipping) and Best Buy ($199 with free shipping as well). It will be available via the Acer Store in December.
