If you don’t want to spend a whole fortune on a new 14-inch machine but need to buy a snappy laptop with good battery life, the Acer TravelMate P2 (TMP214-55) can give you all that without breaking the bank. The chassis may be made of plastic but it’s solid for the most part and its matte surface isn’t a fingerprint magnet. The input devices are also good for work. This reminds us that the single fan is almost quiet during long CPU loads. The thermal system may look unpretentious but it’s capable. The CPU can sustain ~3.00 GHz / 2.10 GHz P and E-core clock which is a record-breaking result for a Core i5-1335U-based laptop. Our notebook will not top any benchmark charts since the overall performance is a bit hindered by the DDR4 memory in single-channel mode.

Intel UHD Graphics 64EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Alder Lake SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture (Xe) with 64 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

i3-1315U: Raptor Lake-U based mobile CPU with 2 performance cores and 4 efficient cores. The performance cores offer hyper threading, leading to 8 threads that can be processed. There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
