The won't win any awards for design or craftsmanship, but with the power and performance on offer, it's hard to ignore for anyone looking for a decent laptop on a budget. Low cost laptops are notoriously bland-looking, but the Aspire 5750 at least does a good job of adding a little personality and fun.

Choosing a laptop is quite a challenge, even for a well-informed user. There are lots of options related to size, CPU, memory, hard disk, and, obviously, price tag. The choice must be made based upon the uses you will have for the computer and, of course, on price. It is important to keep in mind that it is better to buy a model with more updated components, so the product will take a longer time to become obsolete.

If you're looking for killer performance, the Acer Aspire AS5750-6667 is not for you; its Core i3 processor just isn't suited for heavy lifting. However, it will have no trouble handling the day-to-day stuff like emailing, Web browsing, Skyping, and running most office applications, and is one of the few sub-$500 laptops to offer USB 3.0 connectivity. If the 640GB hard drive isn't big enough for you, the Aspire 5755-6482 comes with a 750GB drive for $100 more, but you'll have to sacrifice the two-year warranty and the USB 3.0 port. For $120 more you can go with our current Editors' Choice, the Lenovo IdeaPad V570-1066AJU, and get better performance and a few extra features like WiMAX and eSATA.

Acer's Aspire AS5750-6414 takes their several year old design and updates it with a newer and faster Core i5 processor which is one of the few available for under $600. This is great for anyone that is looking for a low cost laptop that needs a faster processor. The problem is that the design is old and really needs updating.

The Acer Aspire 5750Z isn’t a particularly impressive notebook when it comes to performance. It is, however, a good buy if you consider bang for your buck; it sells for Rs. 26,999 in India. For that money, you get a full-flegded, rather well built laptop with a bundled operating system, something you miss on other low-priced notebooks. If you’re on an extremely tight budget, then this might be worth considering if you aren’t into gaming.

Acer's aging Aspire 5750 laptop design still manages to offer an above average level of performance in the under $600 price range thanks to its Core i5 processor and 6GB of memory. The problem is that it sacrifices new features found in the Aspire V3 and other brands that limit its overall potential. In particular, it lacks any of the high speed USB 3.0 ports meaning that external storage options are not quite as fast.
