Acer Aspire 5 A515 powered by AMD Ryzen 7 5700U Lucienne APU shows up early on Amazon Italy for €779

While AMD's Ryzen 5000 Zen 3 Vermeer desktop processors have just now become available, the mobile variants codenamed Cezanne and Lucienne are expected to be announced sometime in January next year. However, it looks like Ryzen 5000 U-series laptops have already started production going by an Amazon Italy for an Acer Aspire 5 A515 listing that recently caught our attention.

According to the product listing, there does not seem to be any chassis change in the upcoming Acer Aspire 5 A515-45-R2J2 laptop. This Aspire 5 model is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U and comes with 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, and a 15.6-inch IPS LCD display. Other standard features include Wi-Fi 6 2x2 and Acer TrueHarmony audio.

Port selection also seems to be unchanged from the previous generation, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-44 — this includes 1x HDMI-out, 1x RJ-45, 2x USB 3.1 Type-A, 1x USB 2.0 Type-A, and 1x USB 3.2 Type-C along with a 3.5 mm combo audio jack.

We know that the upcoming mobile Ryzen APUs will share the same 5000-series nomenclature as their desktop counterparts. However, Ryzen 5000 APUs will be a mix a of Cezanne (Zen 3) and Lucienne (Zen 2) parts. The Acer Aspire 5 in this listing is powered by the Ryzen 7 5700U, which indicates that it is an 8C/16T Lucienne SKU with 1.8 GHz base and 4.3 GHz boost clocks. It may noted that all Ryzen 5000 Cezanne and Lucienne parts will still use GCN-based iGPUs.

At the time when we first spotted the listing, the Acer Aspire 5 A515's price was indicated as €779 (see screenshot below). The status has since changed to "Not available at this time". It is possible that Acer may unveil this laptop at CES 2021 and plan for availability some time between April and June 2021.
