AYANEO has confirmed that is preparing for another new release. Rather than being an entirely new device, it seems that the new release will be a refreshed Pocket EVO, which first landed just last month.

AYANEO introduced plenty of devices this summer, albeit with a different focus than has often been the case. While the company has tended to release Windows-based gaming handhelds in recent years, it decided to use this summer to begin selling a plethora of Android alternatives at various price points to better compete with the likes of the AYN Odin2 (curr. $449 on Amazon).

Surprisingly, it seems that AYANEO has already decided to refresh one of these devices in one way or another. As always, the company has been rather coy publicly about what it has in store. However, it remarks that whatever is coming is a ‘new release’ relating to the Pocket EVO.

As the image below shows, AYANEO has confirmed that it will showcase its new release on September 24 at 08:00 EDT (12:00 UTC). Unfortunately, other details remain unknown for now. Presumably, the new Pocket EVO will retain the same underlying hardware as current units though, which combine a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset with a 7-inch AMOLED display. Likewise, we imagine AYANEO will begin selling its ‘new release’ through Indiegogo first, which its recent tweet implies.
