ASRock announces fanless iBOX mini PCs with Ryzen Embedded V2000 processors
ASRock is the first company to announce implementations for the new AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 processors with Zen 2 cores. For now, the offer only includes industrial-grade fanless mini PCs powered by the low-power 10 W 6-core and 8-core models, but we reckon it would not be too long before the 35 W processor versions with active cooling get an announcement, as well.
The new fanless mini PCs are part of the iBOX series and come with the signature heatsink fins on the top and side panels of the barebone chassis. Powering the iBOX-V2000V model is the Ryzen Embedded V2516 6-core processor, while the iBOX-V2000M is powered by the V2718 8-core. These are barebone systems, so they only include the chassis with the motherboard and processor. Users can then add up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, and the storage side includes an M.2 Key M PCIe Gen 3 X4 slot plus a SATA III port. Additionally, the integrated Radeon Vega GPUs support up to 4x 4K displays.
As far as networking is concerned, the motherboard comes equipped with 1 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps NICs and users can also add a wireless module via the M.2 Key E slot. Port selection is quite generous and includes 1x COM, 4x USB 2.0, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 + 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (DP 1.4 video output mode supported), HDMI 2.0a, DP 1.2a, dual GbE jacks, headphone and mic jacks.
