Update | AOOSTAR GEM13 mini PC debuts with Hawk Point AMD Ryzen 7 and eGPU support

Update 2024/07/03 10:13 AM CET: We got in touch with an AOOSTAR representative and found out this isn't a real AOOSTAR mini PC. Instead, it's a counterfeit, but the specs are still good for the price.

The AOOSTAR GEM13 is the latest Hawk Point mini PC to enter the market. It's powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS, a powerful CPU from the lineup. The base variant pairs this processor with 16 GB of RAM, while the top-end variant bumps it up to 32 GB.

Given that this Ryzen 7 processor has the Radeon 780M iGPU, you can expect this mini PC to handle a good number of games at low to medium settings in 720p to 1080p resolutions. But if you want better gaming performance, there's a USB4 port, allowing you to hook up an eGPU. Of course, an OCuLink port would've made the system more ideal for external graphics setups.

Besides the USB4 port, the AOOSTAR GEM13 has two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, one HDMI 2.1, one USB Type-C, and two LAN ports. For wireless connectivity, it features Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6. As for storage, the mini PC sports a PCIe 4.0 slot that can hold a 1 TB drive. There's support for a 2.5-inch SATA drive too.

Other highlights of the mini PC include support for up to four monitors and a small and compact form factor. AOOSTAR hasn't launched the GEM13 outside China, but it can be imported from Banggood, with the 16/512 GB variant currently coming at $629.99. The variant with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, on the other hand, costs $719.99.
